Walid Sabeur

Resident in medical biology, The Institut de Cancérologie de Lorraine

I'm a PharmD and MSc in Statistics, currently a resident in medical biology at the Institut de Cancérologie de Lorraine, where I work on molecular diagnostics and cancer genetics. Over the years, I've had the chance to explore how AI can support clinical practice, from leading a computer vision team focused on cancer cell detection in the USA, to contributing to research at EPFL and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.Alongside my clinical training, I've been involved in several national tasks forces on AI in medical laboratories and health data governance, and I teach bioinformatics and AI applied to cancer genomics diagnostics and theranostics at Paris-Saclay University. I'm also Vice-President for Medical Biology at FNSIP-BM, the national federation of medical biology residents in France.I'm passionate about making AI genuinely useful at the bedside and in the lab, not as a buzzword, but as a practical tool that can improve patient care. I'm really glad to be part of this panel and to learn from everyone here.
